I watch htop on my Gentoo system.
I have ZoneMinder running, which is a security camera system.
Out of curiosity, I see in 'htop' 2 instances of a process for ZoneMinder, but when I use , I can't find one of them, yet it continues to be shown in htop.
I can't even find this second process from 'htop' using 'top'.
I am sort of lost as to how I can convince 'ps', 'top' and 'htop' to agree.
FYI: the process that htop is reporting that I cannot see elsewhere has a PID which is 3 lower than the one I can see, implying it is some sort of 'parent'.
Suggestions? _________________ ...Lyall |

lyallp,
Is it one process with 2 threads?
htop can show threads or processes. _________________ Regards,

Upon reflection, you appear to be correct.
Other Processes exhibit the same behaviour, just that they don't end up in the top 15 or so, that my window of htop shows.
shows the same process list as htop. _________________ ...Lyall |
