I run amd64 stable but added all of the KDE frameworks and such, to my accept_keywords as ~amd64 so that I could get 5.25 installed and test out the Wayland improvements.
Overall, it went really well. I'm not sure that I unmasked the applications correctly, but yesterday evening it was working really well. Amazing performance improvements and some annoying bugs fixed (KWallet unlocking at login) but this morning after doing some Qt updates, it will not work and launches into a black screen.
I had qtwebengine, qtgui, and qtcore updates comes in.
Anyone else have this occur? I can login via X11, but Wayland creates a black screen. I'm on a hybrid graphics notebook with AMD/NVIDIA. |

Based on my recent experience (last 4 -5 years) with KDE / Qt stuff getting buggy after updates , I unmerge all of them and remerge them on an update.
I have enven considered making a script that does it _________________ Donate to Gentoo |

simply install eix:
and then for example for qt do a:
Code: | eix -I -C --only-names dev-qt | xargs emerge -p1 |
or to comple the packages
Code: | eix -I -C --only-names dev-qt | xargs emerge -v |
I did this with Qt and some media libs.
Hope this helps _________________ Mircosoft software is like having sex with a stranger, you always have to be careful not to get infected with something... |
