Hello
Trying to set up Blender on gentoo, but something goes wrong. Blender runs, but when I try to install opencl in its settings it crashes immediately. I searched the web sites and found that someone was able to solve this problem by installing amdgpupro-opencl package. In my case, it didn't work. Still trying to find a solution to this issue, but with no result. Now I think, maybe I should install Blender on Wine after all? I have to try installing a couple of Windows based only programs Artec Studio etc. on it anyway.
Or is there a simple solution to this problem? |

Which version of Blender?
I suppose it's <3.0 since you have the option in the settings still. Support for OpenCL was removed in 3.0, so it's a bit of a dead-end going forward.
That aside, what gets printed into the terminal when the crash happens?
Also, what does the 'clinfo' command tell us? _________________ Kindest of regardses. |

To help us understand your blender install, can you post the output of
Code: | #emerge --info blender |

Appreciate for the replies
Blender is 2.93 version. Didn't know that support was removed in the latest versions, thanks
I'll do that when I get home. |
