Hello, I'm looking for a good feeds reader. I seen akregator, but this software isn't too beautifull. I would like a good feeds reader, agreable to read, and dedicated for that ( not thunderbird for example), and available for gentoo without flatpak |

Thanks you, I google it this yet, but I'm not satisfy. A lot are ugly, or just unavailable for gentoo |

Some of the ones listed in the search have the AppImage version that you just need to download, give permission to run and run it.
Not the better solution but at least you can try them without too many problems. _________________ Questions are guaranteed in life; Answers aren't. |

Very sad ... I prefer to build it than use appimage or flatpak
I don't want, but I will install akregator. But I don,t like because this software doesn't look good and require a lot of useless package
Thanks you |

I think the ones you think have better look & feel are electron/javascript based so you are unlikely to be able to compile them with an ebuild.
Usually these install the files from an already pre-compiled package. _________________ Questions are guaranteed in life; Answers aren't. |

Some years ago I looked for graphical rss readers and came up with a shortlist of Liferea, Quiterss and Akregator.
Quiterss use qtwebkit and was removed from portage when that was deprecated.
Liferea is still available and actively maintained but if you don't like the look of Akregator you'll probably not like Liferea either. |

I use Miniflux. It's web based, but it works great on both desktop and mobile. No client needed, even though it works with some (like Newsboat). It features a bunch of nice to have features that makes it a lot better than most—if not all—alternatives out there.
If you don't want to host it yourself, you can pay 15 USD per year for hosting by Miniflux themselves.
