Hi there,
First of all, thanks for everyone that have been making Gentoo a reality. Since a while I've been using this distribution, and am more than happy. 
Now, the question! 
In one of the latest updates, rxvt-unicode lost the ability to create tabs. So far, I was able to create tabs using Shift-Down.
I'd say the rxvt-unicode configuration is pretty fine. Here is the portion regarding tabs:
| Code: | | URxvt.perl-ext-common: default,matcher,tabbed |
As you may guess, tabs are provided through Perl extensions. Thus, I've already rebuilt rxvt-unicode with all its dependencies, and also Perl.
Well, any suggestions?

Indeed it's related to bug #830329.
I just rebuilt rxvt-unicode including USE flag fading-colors, and tabs are alive again.

I'd like to add that this problem showed up.
I checked again bug 830329 and the solution is a little bit different.
I had to keep fading-colors and add perl.
Everything working again!
