On a fresh install of KDE Plasma the address bar does not respond when I try to use fish:// to connect to remote systems. Is there a use flag or plugin that this feature has been moved too that I need to enable/emerge?

I'm not sure but kde-apps/kio-extras has enabled sftp use flag? _________________ Questions are guaranteed in life; Answers aren't. |

I seem to already have kde-apps/kio-extras installed, and the sftp use flag enabled:
Code: | # emerge -pv kde-apps/kio-extras
These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

It seems like the address bar is completely ignoring the Enter key. I can edit and type in any path however there is no response when I press Enter. In fact, if I am in my /home/username/ folder and I explicitly add "Desktop" or "Desktop/" and press Enter, then nothing happens -- even though that folder does exist and I can open it with the mouse.
This problem appears to be unrelated to the fish:// protocol and is actually a really broken address bar. It updates appropriately when I navigate around, and it is an editable field, but it completely ignores the Enter key on the keyboard.
After further testing, it seems related to the "text completion" feature. If you right-click on the navigation bar and set the Text-Completion to "None" (because automatic URL text-completion via the Enter key is a security issue) then it disables the Enter key entirely. I suppose that is one way to disable automatic text completion: disable navigation entirely lmao. I think this may be a bug and unintentional.
Re-enabling some of the automatic text-completion options seems to have restored functionality for manual paths and fish://, but at the expense of unintended URL input via text-completion. I'll submit a bug to KDE.
Thanks for the help! |
