Hi all,

I've finisched installing the latest release of Plasma but I can't seem to get the meta key working, I've checked the keymaps file in /etc/conf.d and the windows key is set to yes so I'm out of ideas.
Is there any other place where this setting might be?

Thank you :)

I think there is no Meta Key... See: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/119212/mod-meta-super-keys

What do you want to do? And why do you need the Meta key? Emacs?

BTW: Do you know xev? Run it and press some keys. It will show you the names of the keys you pressed.

Meta or super or windows key or whatever, all this names drive me crazy. I need it to map some shortcut for my workflow.

Ah, the Windows key! xev shows that the left Windows key is called 'Super_L' on my machine. And the right one 'Super_R'.
Code:
KeyPress event, serial 37, synthetic NO, window 0x3000001,
    root 0x6be, subw 0x0, time 13468471, (92,88), root:(963,595),
    state 0x2000, keycode 133 (keysym 0xffeb, Super_L), same_screen YES,
    XLookupString gives 0 bytes:
    XmbLookupString gives 0 bytes:
    XFilterEvent returns: False

What do you want to happen if you press that key?

I use Plasma as DE and I want to open the software menu for browsing the apps, I also use it to remap the lock and suspend functions with L and S keys.

Do you run your DE in X11 mode? Or in Wayland mode?

Does xev show 'Super_L' if you press the Windows key? Or does it show something else?

Have you seen: https://superuser.com/questions/1156130/kde-disable-super-l-windows-key-key-shortcut-as-menu-launcher. Maybe your 'Super_L' key is just disabled?

It could also be this: https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=170665. What happens if you create a new user and log in as this user?

I use plasma on X11, I can see Super_L in xev.
I've tried creating a new user but nothing change.
