I have been attempting to install Gentoo on my Macbook air from around 2015. I am not attempting to dual boot, so I am using only Grub. I have installed grub to my EFI directory with the following command:
Code: | grub-install --target=x86_64-efi --efi-directory=/boot --bootloader-id="Gentoo" --removable --recheck --debug |
I have also follow this guide to configure my kernel correctly: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Apple_Macbook_Pro_Retina_(early_2013)#Kernel
I am able to reach the Grub screen and select my kernel to boot, and I get the message "Loading Linux 5.14.10-gentoo ..." and it just hangs. I've used the livecd to try and look at any logs but nothing was even written. How could I go about troubleshooting this or does anyone have any idea what this problem might be?
Here are my kernel and grub configs

Edit
I was able to get the kernel log to display by including the EFI and simple framebuffers in my kernel config. |
