I am new to gentoo, i installed it a few days ago so i'm still trying to figure out how to do things. I installed dwm with X server and noticed both have a very high cpu usage by running top, X is always higher than 70% and sometimes dwm freezes for no reason.
I was able to reproduce this by opening discord, when dwm shows certain characters like emojis on the bar it goes up to 90% cpu. So i looked it up and there is a xft bug related to emojis. I installed some font related packages, including fonts-meta which solved an issue
with discord characters but dwm would still freeze, so i have no clue what to do now. Even when i just start dwm cpu usage is high so i think it could be something else than the xft bug.
cpu is ryzen 5 3400g.

Here is my xorg.0.log

Code:

emerge --info

I wonder if this is a problem
Code:

[   673.300] (EE) event8  - Kingston HyperX Alloy FPS Pro Mechanical Gaming Keyboard: client bug: event processing lagging behind by 29ms, your system is too slow
[   752.097] (EE) event8  - Kingston HyperX Alloy FPS Pro Mechanical Gaming Keyboard: client bug: event processing lagging behind by 11ms, your system is too slow
[  2042.207] (EE) event8  - Kingston HyperX Alloy FPS Pro Mechanical Gaming Keyboard: client bug: event processing lagging behind by 12ms, your system is too slow

Thank you for replying, I think i solved it but i don't know how or what was causing the issue, i tried removing all dwm patches and doing
Code:

emerge --deselect dwm
emerge --depclean

And now cpu usage keeps below 1.7% for X, also dwm does not freeze anymore when showing emojis.
The only patches i had were statusallmons and barheight. I'll try to patch dwm again and check if it happens again.

Anyway here is my emerge --info:
