I like www.tic80.com, a retro-computing virtual console running in a browser.
It runs well with firefox-bin, but it does not run at all with my local firefox build (even with --safe-mode). The games just do not load, and there are no messages in the firefox console. I tried several USE flags combinations and upgrading nodejs to latest.
Could someone try some game there and let me know if it works at your place with firefox local build?.

appears to WFM (firefox ESR)...
Using addons?
(As a commentary about tic80, this is kind of dumb. They need to limit the speed of the emulation, seems these days people only limit screen resolution and color as an "80s" computer along with sound waveform (i.e., square wave), but overall speed (and memory... including graphics memory...) was also a limitation... Today's computers are ridiculously faster than machines back then and even with poor software emulation is still one heck of a lot faster...) _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD

Running fine here in pluginless session Code: | Installed versions: 93.0 | Some plugin seem to cause issue here, though.
Thks 4 ur attention, interest & support. _________________ USE="-* ..." in /etc/portage/make.conf here, i.e. a countermeasure to portage implicit braces, belt & diaper paradigm

I tested with addons desactivated and it was not the addons (firefox --safe-mode)
Then I looked into the about:config for the modified parameters, and found I had "webgl.disabled = true"
It wow it works. Thanks for the help |

That seems all too typical of webapps. They assume certain features, and if those assumptions are violated, you get a dead page with no way to understand what is wrong. If the tic80 maintainer is reasonable and responsive, it could be useful to report that the tic80 script ought to catch the error from webgl.disabled=true and display some sort of error to the user like "Failed to initialize WebGL." |
