I just configured gnome-base/gnome-light in OpenRC environment, and start the desktop in tty with:

in htop, i can see ibus-daemon under /usr/bin/gnome-shell . but input method with ibus does not work. i think there should be a small icon for ibus at upper-right corner of the screen, but i don't see it there.
in htop, i can see that environment variable for ibus-daemon contains DISPLAY=:1 although, WAYLAND_DISPLAY=wayland-0. And for other process such as xwayland, DISPLAY=:0. Can this be the reason why ibus input method does not appear for me? if it is, how to fix?
i used to work with fcitx. but i cannot remove ibus-daemon, its always appear under gnome-shell. i see somewhere on web that i can just delete the program file for ibus-daemon from file system, which i don't think to be a good solution. |
