|
|
I've been spoiled by wired internet for sometime, and have recently moved. I need to setup a wifi connection. I've bought a Netgear ac1200 USB, and I'm trying to get it working with the Gentoo live USB.
following the instructions on the Gentoo wiki wifi page (https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Wifi), I get the following output.
lsusb:
Code: |
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 0846:9053 Netgear, Inc. A6210
|
it's being recognized, so that's good. I was reading the wifi page some more and noticed it said that only is present. here is a snippet of it's output.
wpa_cli:
Code: |
Interactive Mode
Could not connect to wpa_supplicant: (nil) - re-trying
|
when running , my USB wifi is registered as , so that's good it's being recognized.
when I go through the wizard and enter in the SSID and password, I get an error at step Code: | Use DHCP to auto-detect my network setting | .
Code: |
/use/sbin/net-setup: line 216: /sbin/dhcpcd: Input/output error
|
running after still produces the same error as above. how do I wifi from the Gentoo live minimal image? _________________ https://www.github.com/shoober420
