America's Army is definitely closed-source. In fact, the source is actually tightly controlled by the United States Army.
The game is completely free for all to play, however.

I bet you there are at least 3 seperate, completely unrelated and unconnected code bases for AA, one for each major branch of the military. I also bet that they are the exact same game.

The marine corps is the step child of US military. They could never afford such a publicity stunt.

| Isn't the unreal engine the quake engine? They use .pk3 which are, I think, related to the quake engine. |
