i never really used a system with systemd - played around with Qubes OS a while ago, but it was to buggy at that time and RPMs are PITA, imo.
i'am wondering, how do you handle logs with systemd - compared to OpenRC ?

Use journald
Code: |
journalctl --unit=<service-name>
journalctl --boot ### show last boot
journalctl --dmesg ### show last dmesg

If you have a sophisticated existing syslog setup where you're filtering to different destinations, or merging stuff from multiple systems, or other complex stuff, there is a journald -> syslog bridge as part of systemd; I forget its name, but Google will find it for you. _________________ Greybeard |
