problem with changed-deps and python(solved)

Problems with emerge or ebuilds? Have a basic programming question about C, PHP, Perl, BASH or something else?

problem with changed-deps and python(solved)

getting this when i

i had a python upgrade today which gave me an collision error then i disabled collission-protect and it built but 1st i removed what i listed below as the first collision error said that those are not owned by any file, right now i am emerge -1 portage to see if it fixesthe problem that i caused, i forgot to emerge -1v dev-lang/python:3.9....whoops sorry ppl

FWIW, I wouldn't use --changed-deps. It has a specific meaning and no real advantage other than maybe for generating binary packages.

Your standard upgrade command should be:

emerge -a -uvDU @world
(You can swap U for N if you want.)

Anyway, to your problem.. I've seen the pickle file collision before when a user's clock was wrong at the point of installing Python. This causes it to generate some files it shouldn't during build. I'd make sure your clock is right, then install Python and accept the one-off collision if it occurs.

i didn't realize it before but yea the clock was off for some odd reason but i fixed the problem when i originally posted,on my other rig there was no problem only today eselect-python package after an update got depcleaned...
