After a world update I had gnome-desktop-40.2 in the packages to update. it failed at chunk 27/31 with tests/wall-clock, at chunk 28/31 with libgnome-desktop/gnome-rr-debug and at chunk 29/31 with libgnome-desktop/GnomeDesktop-3.0.gir all three with the undefined reference to 'sysprof_collector_mark_vprintf' of the library /usr/lib64/libpangoft2-1.0.so.0
Any idea?

same as bug #795336, workaround is to rebuild pango (emerge -1 x11-libs/pango)
haven't really looked into it but I guess there's some abi breakage going on |

Indeed rebuilding pango with the oneshot option did the trick.

PS: For gnome-shell the same scenario happens with dev-libs/gjs and gui-libs/gtk which need to be rebuilt with the -1 option. |
