What photo and video editor do you recommend?

I'm looking for something to replace Final Cut Pro and Lightroom.
Any recommendations?

On Linux, Gimp & KDEnLive. On windows, the same (if you want free) or Adobe's Photoshop & After Effects.

i use shotcut for video editing its really nice and pretty simple

GIMP for photos, the commandline for videos, mainly ffmpeg.

For stills (lightroom replacement):
Raw editor: Darktable or rawtherapee
Organisation: Digikam
Editing: Gimp
