Can't locate Locale/gettext.pm in @INC (you may need to install the Locale::gettext module) (@INC contains: /etc/perl /usr/local/lib64/perl5/5.32/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/local/lib64/perl5/5.32 /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/5.32/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/5.32 /usr/lib64/perl5/5.32/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib64/perl5/5.32 /usr/lib64/perl5/5.30.3 /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/5.30.3 /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/5.30.1) at /usr/bin/help2man line 30.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/bin/help2man line 30.

Yes, I think
Code:
emerge -av1 dev-perl/Locale-gettext sys-apps/help2man
or
perl-cleaner --all
should help.

All is okay, pango emerged.

Strange it merged before all other updates

I just ran into this one today, and was able to determine exactly what caused it: The upgrade of perl to dev-lang/perl-5.32.1 from 5.30, as you'd expect, causes the recompile of the perl modules. For some reason, dev-perl/Locale-gettext was the only one of those modules that portage recompiled before perl itself. Here are the two lines from my emerge output in order:
Code:
[ebuild  rR    ] dev-perl/Locale-gettext-1.70.0::gentoo  9 KiB
[ebuild  r  U  ] dev-lang/perl-5.32.1:0/5.32::gentoo [5.30.3:0/5.30::gentoo] USE="berkdb gdbm -debug -doc -ithreads -minimal%" 12,442 KiB
So that's clearly what broke that one. And yes, after re-emerging dev-perl/Locale-gettext my update proceeded without any issues, but it looks like emerge somehow didn't get that one right.

That sounds like Portage performs perl subslot rebuilds before upgrading perl, which is currently open without response from any Gentoo maintainers.

Yea, it certainly does. What's interesting is that I ran into that on my new AMD machine, but I see that on my old 32-bit x86 MythTV systems, it gets the order right...with all the perl modules after dev-lang/perl.
