Chromium not remembering Google cookies?

Fine, but do cookies on Google no longer work as well? Every time I restart Chromium I have to log in to Gmail again. Is this related to the change they made a couple years ago when they unified the browser sync cookies and the web page cookies?

There is a setting about auto filling forms and saving passwords.
