Right, I've tried the referenced patch, which didn't fix.
lxde-base/lxappearance-0.6.3-r1 works fine though.

glibc-2.32-r7 here.

lxappearance-0.6.3-r2 works fine with stable glib-2.66.7.

Right...

IRC, lxappearance-0.6.3-r2 update has been tested as working, prior to gcc-11 install here.

According to ebuild, cairo is lxappearance-obconf related.
This could be a poor issue tracking path.

Currently running
Code:
emerge -1 -e lxappearance --exclude 'the ebuild long lasting packages'
WIll see what's next...

Further testing showed lxde-base/lxappearance-0.6.3-r2 loads fine with lxde-base/lxappearance-obconf-0.2.3, the later being removed from the gentoo portage tree.

Side note such a config throws a lot of gtk warning in terminal, which may be identical when using lxde-base/lxappearance-0.6.3-r1 (unchecked).

lxappearance-obconf adds an 'windows borders'[translated] tab to lxappearance.
This additional tab contains 3 tabs on the left and a show frame on the right, common to all 3 tabs.

The monitoring frame fails to show in such config.
Plz use lxde-base/lxappearance-0.6.3-r1 to have it back.

The 3 tab settings seem to be working though.

Those using lxde-meta should proceed to ebuild locaization & patching to avoid emege world issues in this respect.

It strikes me that lxappearance-obconf introduces some significant instability. Not necessary and not worth it. After all, there is obconf and obconf-qt as well as direct editing of the xml files.

I never had lxappearance-obconf installed until you mentioned it. Maybe there is a reason it wasn't included in lxde-meta.

AFAIK lxappearance-obconf is designed as a plugin.
lxde-meta is IUSE free,
Not forcing it at lxde-meta level seems the only way to keep it optional.

I don't recall having any kind of problem with it prior to gtk+:3 migration.

Mainly using it here to customize apps main menu theme suitable with dark theme experience.
