[Solved] How to stop custom gentoo LXD image

I created a custom gentoo LXD image like instructed by https://ubuntu.com/tutorials/create-custom-lxd-images I want to use as a template for my containers.

The container created from that image starts but when I execute lxc stop my_container the command hangs forever. If I execute a shell inside the container I can successfully stop it by running halt.

What do I have to setup to be able to stop my container with lxc stop?

Did you update your @world and overwrote /etc/inittab?

https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/LXD#Containters_freeze_on_.27lxc_stop.27_with_OpenRC check this to fix it.

I missed the inittab part..
