direct input/sony controllers not seeing all buttons

Hello,

I'm having trouble with direct input/sony/PS4 controllers on my installation. Two of the buttons (I believe it's two of the triggers) do not work. I was wondering if anyone knew how to set them up so they work like Xinput/Xbox based controllers which I have no problems with. I'd like both types to map their buttons the same. I've seen some threads about this in the past but I can't find them now.
