I have been having another go with gentoo after a hiatus.
I got everything installed and running/booted.
startx works fine to boot into my window manager (herbstluftwm)
xrandr resizes and places 2 of my screens fine.
But the 3rd screen when interacted with causes all screens to go black and I have to hard reset.
I tried this on stable and then tried updating to testing with latest kernel / driver last night with the same result.
The GPU is an Nvidia RTX 2060 and all 3 screens are Display port.
Should I be using the closed source driver? |

hey!
I've had the same problem a week ago, I suggest you to read this one: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/NVIDIA/Optimus
Not sure how well it would work with the Nouveau driver, but if it doesn't try the Modesetting driver.
Either way take a careful look at your xorg logs. |
