I was a bit away from gentoo, but mostly because I was on a Mac from my job and my computer was left in a corner for nearly 1 year. I took 5 days to get it updated and now I see myself again reading gentoo forums & wiki.

I've been running Gentoo on my main laptop (screenshotted above) and dekstop for a couple of months and can't see myself looking back. In fact, I installed a distro which came pre-packaged with a DE and a display manager, and I couldn't rid them both fast enough. Coupled with the necessity to use apt for package management, I'm already far too conditioned against using anything other than Gentoo (the horror).

about the same as you, macbook at university, at home there was a dual pentium iii with various linux distributions that in each upgrade broke until i found gentoo for years stable on pc.
