I have a wifi which in general works, but from time to time looses carrier. I tried different things already, but lately found a post indicating that this could be because of wifi power safe. I had this with Networkmanager but also with plain wpa_supplicant.

How can wifi power safe permanently be disabled ?

For quite some time I was using plain wpa_supplicant and only now re-emerged packages with networkmanager in make.conf, removed wpa_supplicant from default runlevel and have put NetworkManager instead. Now I observe that while I get wifi networking online after login, it takes way to long and only succeeds in its second try. The corresponding log entry seems to be Actifvation (wifi) association took too long, failing activation.

I'll maybe switch back to wpa_supplicant but would love to hear if there is an option to disable any wifi power safe option. It would be great to be able to test, if this causes occasional network interruptions.
