Hi,

Would like to know if anyone has a work around for NordVPN on a openRC system, I'm aware it requires systemd (which I don't wish use).

Is there a build which doesn't require systemd?; does anyone have a work around or an elegant solution?

Thank-you in advanced for your assistance.

edit: grammar and phrasing.

Unfortunately not, the official nordVPN client for linux requires systemd.

I have tested this method however when it tries to connect it throws back a 'can't configure firewall' message, I would assume that this is because it's trying to use a component from systemd (which isn't there).

Thank-you for your time.

Edit: to be clear I would like a client to manage NordVPN (w/o requirement for systemd) if possible as the manual method is fine however you basically tie yourself to a single server unless you manually 'add' another VPN (which isn't ideal).

Are you sure it's not just because it try use /sbin/ip ? (which is working on systemd because they use the stupid /bin -> /sbin symlink)
look at the last comment from fedeliallalinea's link
