Makes you wonder as to how long it's been over here (UK), posted on the first instance of this thread that I had a cold a good few weeks back and that's most likely what it was. Then again I see cases of people that have very mild symptoms.

Given that most people don't exhibit symptoms or very mild symptoms to this and the number of infections are proportional to the testing, I wonder if this has been a big hoax of some kind.

Sure, some people died. But wouldn't they have died otherwise?

I definitely think this is a hoax.

Everybody would die eventually.

The deaths are mostly among the elderly but they could have lived a few years longer probably.

The problem is not the deaths but the overloaded hospitals and without hospitals it is a problem.

A lot of people here had the symptoms (and most certainly COVID) here but only a few were hospitalized or tested.

Also on nextstrain.org now virologists think that it is very likely the it began in October 2019 in Wuhan.

We are going to use this test:

These guys have been very good to the parts of Texas hit by hurricanes. They swarm in with generators, full reefers and regular trailers, and employees from unimpacted areas so the local ones can tend to their family business. Nothing quite like some good Blue Bell ice cream when the power has been off for multiple days.

There will always be incentive to cater to each other's needs, it's just some want to get in the way and take what they have not created. Political and economic structure matters.

We lockdown entire countries because we won't sacrifice our eldery for the economy and what do the elderly:

https://imgur.com/a/g6FCYiO

a 77 yo man in Madrid was fined by the police because he was wandering on the streets looking for Pokemons

Here a group of elderly meet despite the stay-at-home order to play boccia (bowl): 2 dead 4 in ICU.

They should also cooperate a bit ....

If I might weigh in on a more serious note. An observation (probably right) :
Media : Run to the hills!!
Gov: It's ok. Nothing to see here. Live your life as usual you can...oh, btw there is a cerfeu coming.

Kind of coherent?

It's seeming more and more plausible that COVID-19 has been in other countries for way longer than we thought.

The more 'c' the more flu. So, maybe picccccccasso. It's just demeaning to us all to agree that is the case...I have told everyone...everyone!(and a 1) the flagelat. A syrsa. A biblical porportion....just say it and I will forgive you.

The blood test is now available and we will start soon:

Seems like evidence favoring limits of assembly to no more than 5 people.

Well, there are benefits to being an introvert, I've just been listening to somebody moaning on the wireless about having to stay at home - that ain't a problem for old JB.

It's a bit like having a very specific crap superpower. Only trouble is, I need to expose myself next week.

Not like that. I think they need me back at the office.

FWIW:

https://www.journalofhospitalinfection.com/article/S0195-6701(13)00154-0/pdf

If you guys are trapped indoors, at least have some ventilation going and keep yourself exposed to the sun. It won't stop you from being infected, but you can at least reduce the risk of infecting other people in the same space.

Currently here where the situation is not so nice (we have already more than 600 deaths and 410 in Intensive care in the region) only one person per family can go out and assembly is limited to 2 persons. I think in most severely affected EU countries as well.

The elderly were "illegally" meeting in a hidden place to play boccia in the middle of a pandemic the kills mostly the elderly :-)

Why do you say that? I can think of three possible reasons:
1. The bad stuff happening in other countries won’t happen in India
2. The bad stuff isn’t actually happening, it’s all hype
3. The bad stuff isn’t really that bad, so we shouldn’t worry about preventing it.

Is one of those it?

Sounds like a version of a speakeasy. I'd rather go out while playing boccia with friends than be a prisoner in my own home.
