No, there's a seemingly forgotten open bug about it too.

The interest in gconf is understandably low, the amount of packages depending on gconf is shrinking and it'll eventually be due for removal. It's been deprecated for ~9 years and hasn't got a release in 7 years. Doesn't help that it also depend on python2, albeit that may change (if that happen the ebuild may get fixed/revised at same time to have nothing in /root then).

would answer any package who own something in root (with expected result of no answer)
