Hello!

I just finished setting up my a wm (bspwm to be precise) and I am trying to login using lightdm. I noticed however, that when I changed the password of my user account login with lightdm takes around 5-10s, i.e. the greeter background and a cursor is shown for that period of time and after that my wm finally starts.

I noticed some things:

1.
Code:
startx
starts the wm immediately (same config, of course).

2. I created a temporary user, assigned him a password and started the same wm with the same config files (which I copied from my main user) and the wm is loaded instantly (just as before).

3. I tried two different greeters (gtk and slick) and both yield the same result.

So I guess it must have something to do with changing my main password, but I would appreciate any further tips on how to solve that.

Thanks a lot!

EDIT: I found a rather dirty workaround: copying all the files from my main user to the temporary user, deleting my main user, recreating him (same username/password) and copying back everything solved it, i.e. lightdm now log ins to my new main user instantly. Now I am curious what is happening.
