today my net was working fine but stopped. i checked the asus router (bridge mode) and the dsl led was off. called the ISP and they told me someone else (some other username) is logged in on my line. checked the openwrt which acts as a router connected via LAN to that bridged ASUS and the message from WAN was "error: user request". the connections protocol is PPPoe and the login/password seem to be correct.

any experiences with that?

seems they only allow one PPPoE login per user... do you have more than one device trying to login to pppoe?

Otherwise might try just waiting a while and hope the other login times out...

well the ASUS router is in bridge mode so i don't expect that to log in (also it worked fine for months) the only device which tries to login via PPPoeE is the Openwrt behind that ASUS. Also the ASUS has the same user defined as the OpenWRT but if i understood it correctly the ISP says there is "some other user name".

---solved---

today it was working without my intervention. a technitian from the ISP called to check. i asked him what he did do and he said: "changed a card" at the ISP centre itself. hw failure or hacked hw? who knows. will maybe call him for more details...
