I bought a 10 bit capable 4k monitor and AMDGPU VGA card (RX580).
Xorg reports Pixel depth = 30 bits stored in 4 bytes (32 bpp pixmaps) in Xorg.log.0 file when 10 bit coding enabled.
Until DefaultDepth 30 is set in X environment KDE starts.
When it is set sddm starts fine and allows to enter a user password but then KDE ends up in a black screen with not moving mouse cursor.
When sddm (xdm init script) is stopped and startx command is used it opens X screen with three xterm windows but without mouse cursor and keyboard input is ignored.

System is recent ~amd64 compiled with gcc-9.2.0-r2, 64 GB RAM, without LTO.
Mesa version 19.3.0-rc5.
Glxinfo reports direct rendering: Yes

Is this well known or should I provide all logs and configuration(s) please?

Thank you in advance.

Nheghathivhistha,

Lots of things don't work with 10 bits per pixel yet.
For now, its a feature rather than a bug

Different toolkits have different levels of support. SDDM uses Qt5, so if that's working that's a good sign. KWin might be a source of problems if it isn't 30-bit compatible, as it's responsible for drawing everything on screen. In general things have a higher chance of working if they use OpenGL, as that doesn't care about bit depth.

The problem with kb/mouse not working in startx sounds unrelated.
