Hello,

I just did full system upgrade of my machines, and on 2 of them (at least :? ) I got an issue when the screen run : I got only a totally black screen with the mouse pointer, but no login page or such.

All are using XFCE.

The only solution I found is restart X.

Any idea.

My system is :
Code:

How do you start XFCE? Do you use a display manager or start it manually? In the latter case, please post the contents of ~/.xinitrc.

Please post your latest Xorg.0.log file, too. You may find it somewhere in /var/log or in ~/.local/share/xorg.

In both cases you may use wgetpaste:
Code:
wgetpaste /path/to/.xinitrc
wgetpaste /path/to/Xorg.0.log

What about logs in /var/log/lightdm?

Hello,

I did try to rebuild lightdm to see if it complains about something ... no complain

This is the result of the configure phase :

Code:
                   Light Display Manager 1.28.0
                    ===========================

        prefix:                   /usr
        Greeter session:          lightdm-gtk-greeter
        Greeter user:             root
        User session:             gnome
        GObject introspection:    yes
        Vala bindings:            no
        liblightdm-qt:            no
        liblightdm-qt5:           yes
        libaudit support:         no
        Enable tests:             no

Any idea ?
