If I am reading something like a web page, I can use the touchpad on my laptop to scroll, for example using two finger scrolling, and it has a bit of a momentum property so if you start it scrolling it will continue scrolling a bit after letting go.

I try to press Ctrl afterwards, it then causes the page to zoom like crazy, which is pretty annoying. eg scrolling a web page, then pressing ctrl-k to search for something, leads to the page zooming in to like 200%.

Ctrl+two-finger-scroll does zoom so obviously its reading the momentum as a zoom instruction, but I have no idea where I can change it to stop doing it. I guess ideally it should only do zoom if the ctrl is pressed first, or just disabling zoom would be fine too since I never use it.

Any tips about how I can change this? I assume this is from xf86-input-synaptics since I have that installed.

The touchpad is an ELAN-1300 or something like that:

Code:

[    0.784583] input: ELAN1300:00 04F3:3057 Touchpad as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:15.1/i2c_designware.1/i2c-5/i2c-ELAN1300:00/0018:04F3:3057.0001/input/input6
[    0.784907] hid-multitouch 0018:04F3:3057.0001: input,hidraw0: I2C HID v1.00 Mouse [ELAN1300:00 04F3:3057] on i2c-ELAN1300:00

thanks
