I have 80gb memory in this machine so memory is not the issue?

Instaled browsers that chrash - google-chrome-unstable, beta and original, falkon and firefox..

Everything builds just fine..
What might be wrong?

80gb of RAM? you have got a lot of memory. that might be the issue. what modules at what sizes do you have are they the same manufacturer and the same type? (incompatibility issue?)
did you run memtest?

What is the output of cat /proc/PID/limits where PID is a browser process that later crashes?

Do run memtest. Some motherboard/powersupply/RAM combos can get instable when you install so much.

80gb isnt much as mobo supports 1tb ram and I dont suspect memory because everything builds fine -chromium builds in less than 20 min.
Memory is eec registered mem.

By increasing /dev/shm from 1024M to 8196 in /etc/fstab fixed the issue here.
