My receiver is no longer able to detect a signal.

I toy with the idea of creating a distro for one, but I'm not naive enough to think that would really be less work. One of my systems hasn't been sync'd in 31 days. The other is a little behind that. I bought a new HDD, but the system that would go in has been off for I have no idea how long. And I'm not particularly interested in fighting that update. Not sure what I'm going to do there. It also needs a fan replacement. The sync -31d system also started making noises suggesting a fan replacement is needed, though I haven't identified which. I suppose the fans ought to be my priority, then the updates and then data consolidation (the new drive). If I do that, then I'll probably work on the distro thing.

a broken hdd is no excuse for not being online. there are plenty live distributions that you can boot without hdd. also please honor the KISS principle when fixing your stuff and it will just work fine.

Don't mess with Ironman.

I guess I was too vague. So I'll be only slightly less vague: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Signal-to-noise_ratio
