I have seen now so much discussion abut her last months that i have decided to open this thread.

The US seems to have shock from 1973. Yes the oil price is a factor that influences the economy. But now we are in 2019. 2019-1973=46 years later and with the Internet. Why the fuck we can't decentralize and transfer just data with low energy cost and produce real stuff locally? That would help the emissions problem and also lower the dependency on foreign unstable fanatic ISIS countries.

I'll need to get on my desktop. The memes coming out of this autistic, whining, entitled, 16 year old brat are brilliant.

Stay tuned to this thread for lulz.

The little girl should have gone to China and berated the Chinese leaders.

Her avatar

Yarr~

Heart breaking

How rational people feel

So great job by her parents, teachers, the media, and ridiculous politicians for convincing her that the world is ending. This girl, with documented mental issues, is now freaked out of her mind and presented like a puppet in front of the UN to try and guilt people into eating bugs and raising taxes to change the bloody weather.

At least she has a future as a Swedish Death Metal Singer.

{EDIT}

Bonus one, for e3k... because he reported lulz

Greta sure has heavy PR behind her that is true. But that does not change the fact that currently economy rules over ecology. And this will in the end lead to more poor/hungry people especially in 3rd world.

She's arguing against the very thing that will pull the other children out of poverty. It's ridiculous.

We used to have children working in factories, chimney sweeps, kids in hard labor... in the West. That is a thing of the past because of industrialization and a rise in economic status due to capitalism. Greta's handler's are advocating to limit this rise in economic status for the children who did not have the luxury of being born into a rich Swedish family. A fear of a planet reaching temperature lower than the medieval warming period is Greta's "emergency". The child soldiers, slave laborers, child sweatshop workers, miners... their problems are real. Pardon me for not shedding a tear over Greta's bogeyman and feeling just a bit more compassion for the kids who will actually die young because of terrible economic and cultural issues.

Yeah, I've been hearing that line since the 1970s.

poverty will not be solved by capitalism. capitalism has the only aim=money. ad absurdum it would look like a bills/credit numbers distributing machine and could work completely without a life being (human, animal, plant). the technosphere got fast bigger since industrialization but what is a 100years in an Earth perspective... That is why we have now rising temperatures. There is just too much technology on Earth right now and that is why it is overheating.

also we are now burning fossils from dinosaur age and the temperatures were higher at that time. maybe burning dinosaurs is bringing back the dinosaur era!

Silly Muso, it's obvious that not enough socialism was used.

100 years ago the world population was 1.8 or 1.9 billion. I know there's been a lot of procreating, but how have so many more people come about, living longer more accomodated lives?
well the discovery of combustion engine (thank you civilisation2) has enabled this. everything was more quick that is why the humanity grew so fast. but now as the technosphere is getting larger too it is getting a problem. we are too dependent on ineffective technology and that is causing a problem. just look at the software now a days just bloat ware. bloat ware costs resources and they are not unlimited on earth. you can print money as this what is happening after crisis release 2008 but this will not bring you more food. the only solution is to reorganize the world to some more sustainable economy principle. i think this is what Greta demands and that is why i completely agree with her point that something should be done.

So using children for propaganda does not mean that no criticism may occur. Using children for propaganda is disgusting, so it must always be called out.

Nothing said by me before have told anyone anything different than that she is a prostitute. Just saying. In the most respectable way I can...as a Swede.

If the arguments in this thread would be any more short sighted, I'd have to put my head though my monitor to read them.
