Hi,

I'm posting here since it only occurs in dolphin's "removable devices" section.

I have a usb thumb drive that I earlier had used as Gentoo boot drive for installing. So it has initially be overwritten with the installation boot image via 'dd'.

Later, I needed the drive for storage, so I repartitioned it, deleted the old boot partitions and configured two new ones, one plain vfat, the other luks-encrypted.

Whenever I plug in the stick, dolphin shows me the two partitions under "removable devices": the vfat partition correctly with the label I gave that partition, but the luks partition is displayed under the same label the whole stick had when it was an installation medium: "Gentoo amd64 yyyymmddTttttttZ".

It can't be a msdos label, too long for that, so mlabel wont help.
I understand that luks partitions get their label only after encryption (which works correctly: luks label appears under "Devices" after entering password).
I have also checked with kde partitionmanager if there's another label somewhere - but no.

1) Where does dolphin get this label from?
2) How can I change it?

Thanks.

If you run blkid from a root shell, do you see the offending label? If so, where?
