You would just need to split your windows before opening them. In my case is Alt+H then Alt+V

# split in horizontal orientation
bindsym $mod+h split h

# split in vertical orientation
bindsym $mod+v split v

If you want something that does this by default take a look at bspwn or awesomewm can switch on the fly

Haven't tried it myself, but i3 user guide has the following section. https://i3wm.org/docs/layout-saving.html

If I understand it correctly tou have set the layout first and then save it.

I think your right, I did see this page earlier but got lost.. I understand how it works and i can see each "st" terminal emulator..

I think I need to make a script file that runs my apps (APENDEX 1). and when the window senses these programs being executed it swollows the program. I don't understand how to get the window to grab or swollow my app. (APENDEX2) shows the output file I got ready to go, I'd also like the sudo commands to run my tail logs with out having to input a password

(APENDEX1)
Code:
#!bin/bash
#TOP WINDOW
st -e sudo tail -f /var/log/emerge.log
#Left Top
st -e sudo tail -f /var/log/emerge-fetch.log
#bottom left
st -e htop
#right
#st -e su

(APENDEX2)
Code:
