Hi everyone,

A tex file I have compiles just fine in xelatex in Ubuntu, but fails to compile in Gentoo. I tracked down the problem to the culmus package which contains Hebrew fonts. Apparently the culmus package in Ubuntu install fonts like David CLM in a single otf file, whereas the Gentoo installation of culmus provides David CLM in afm, pfa, and ttf, but not otf. For now I solved the problem by just copying the otf files from Ubuntu into my Gentoo machine. Is there a more elegant solution?

Thanks!

You could create a bug at bugs.gentoo.org and tell developers that (any why) you need the OTF fonts.

There's already a comment in the ebuild:
