According to wiki that compat is supposed to be in use tags. However, I get segmentation fault if I have that in my use tags. When I add -compat and rebuild driver X runs with compat you get segmentation fault.
The driver I am running is 430.14 |

I don't recall having to set the flag, I'd go with whatever the default is, which looks like off. _________________

| The wiki mentions compat should be enabled that is wrong at least with newest nvidia. If you enable compat you will get segmentation fault while running startx |

As multiple users and developers across multiple distros have the same issue hit as well, I've filed an official Bugzilla report advising the "compat" USE flag be removed (or at least ignored) from all >=x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers-430.14 ebuilds.
Until then, please manually disable this USE flag to avoid being blindsided on your next "emerge @world". |
