Hi there,

i have a problem emerging media-sound/alsa-driver. my soundcard is a SB Live 5.1 but the error message says there are problems with some trident modules which i really don need. i'm using this release :

this is the error message . i need some advice, pls help.

I'd try 1.3b - 1.3a had a few bugs.

did you do an "emerge rsync" to get the latest portage tree ?

I'd try downloading the latest source from alsa directly and compile it manually.

I've had problems getting alsa to compile when I used "gentoo-sources". Try emerging "vanilla-sources" instead.
