Same issue as https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1095602.html

gdm-3.30.3-r3 reapplies a workaround for this, by fixing up /var/lib/gdm/ directory permissions. But the real question is - how did they get messed up? That would be better to get fixed, but I still don't have a clue how it happens to other people in the first place.
