|
|
Hi everyone!,
I have installed Gentoo (gnome/systemd) for the first time loosely following the Handbook and Sakaki's guide and I am almost over, everything seems to be working but the last step, starting gdm.
Starting it with startx from a user account seems to work fine but whenever I try to run it with systemctl start gdm it hangs indefinetly showing a blank screen and a caret and I can't find what's the issue since journalctl shows no major error.
The only lead I have is when testing Xorg with X -config it tells me it has found a segmentation fault at 0x0.
I am running it on a laptop with dual intel/nVidia gpu and I am trying to get it started through nouveau drivers. They seem to load fine as far ar Xorg.0.log seems to tell. Should I try with nvidia proprietary divers? Would that make a difference?
Any help is appreciated.

For anynone who might have the same issue I solved it by switching to intel drivers. |
