Ok guys first post on here but having been browsing for at least 2 yeas. As a background, I have a 2009 macbook running gentoo. I was switching wm's from xfce4 to i3 and generally just clearing out old programs when i unemerged qingy without realizing how stupid that was. The macbook would load the kernel, then hit an error when init was loading everything and failed to start up, saying something like "INIT: cannnot execute /sbin/agetty". So my problem is obvious, no qingy. Question is, how do i emerge it?
For some reason the computer wont even load into the kernel anymore it just does the classic macbook folder with question mark (if ya know what i mean) and then shuts down. I have tried running a gentoo amd64 minimalCD usb but it gets the same problem. the only usb that works is the SytemRescueCD which im pretty sure is on an Arch distro. So what should I do? How can I install qingy again to get my system to run?
Thanks! |

Welcome to gentoo forum!
systemrescuecd before version 6 is based yet gentoo based. Try to download 5.3.2 version _________________ Questions are guaranteed in life; Answers aren't. |

You mount your partitions and then you can do the chroot. _________________ Questions are guaranteed in life; Answers aren't. |
