dev-libs/libpcre-8.42:3/3::gentoo
dev-libs/openssl1.0.2q:0/0::gentoo
net-misc/openssh-7.7_p1-r9:0/0:gentoo
sys-libs/lipcap-2.25:0/0::gentoo
sys-libs/pam-1.3.0-r2:0/0
net-misc/iputils-20180629:0/0::gentoo
These errors are preventing me from running Code: | emerge --ask sys-kernel/gentoo-sources | and gaining a kernel to my chroot. I've also been prevented from running a fully successful Code: | emerge --ask --verbose --update --deep --newuse @world | .
I am following the AMD64 installation from the handbook. Is there a answer I can understand to this problem of mine? Unfortantely I don't know how to get any text from that computer printed into this forum, I am unable even to scroll up the terminal page. |

beowulf-in-cordoba welcome to gentoo forum.
You should post your emerge --info and build.log for every packages (use wgetpaste) _________________ Questions are guaranteed in life; Answers aren't. |

Thanks, I was able to follow more closely the handbook and I noticed a few errors that allowed me to proceed forward.
I got to the pearly gates and then I deleted my net.lo file after "button-mashing" my network when it wouldn't work.
Is there any hope to recover from my stupidity or do I need to irrevocably go back 3 steps to go forward 4? (a reinstall)
I would type out the net.lo file if I could find it contents. Then I would go back to the network configuration within the handbook.
(I have no network) |

Probably reinstall openrc to get it back _________________ GNOME team lead; GStreamer; MIPS/ARM64 |

Correct package seems net-misc/netifrc not openrc
Code: | $ equery b /etc/init.d/net.lo
* Searching for /etc/init.d/net.lo ...
net-misc/netifrc-0.5.1 (/etc/init.d/net.lo) |
EDIT: but this file is integrated into stage3 then has no the source code in distfiles and without net is a problem _________________ Questions are guaranteed in life; Answers aren't.

Sorry, yes, that then (emerge -1va netifrc). I don't have it and couldn't check fast, as I use systemd and don't have netifrc nor openrc installed. _________________ GNOME team lead; GStreamer; MIPS/ARM64 |
