|
|
Hello, I recently switched from Arch Linux to Gentoo. When I used Arch, there was a package called pulseaudio-alsa which basically merged pulseaudio and alsa together into one hardware device. From my understanding there doesn't seem to be a ebuild for this kind of setup and I wanted to know how to do it. What USE flags/config files would I need to make this possible? _________________ "UNIX is very simple, it just needs a genius to understand its simplicity." -Dennis Ritchie

Looking at the source files for the archlinux package, it appears to just install a presumably customized version of /etc/asound.conf. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

media-sound/pulseaudio with USE=alsa-plugin does this. It should be on by default. |

I copied the config and it seems to be working quite well.
I'll post the config from that package and mark this thread as solved.
Code: | # Use PulseAudio by default
pcm.!default {
type pulse
fallback "sysdefault"
hint {
show on
description "Default ALSA Output (currently PulseAudio Sound Server)"
}
}
ctl.!default {
type pulse
fallback "sysdefault"
}
# vim:set ft=alsaconf:

No custom config should be necessary for this. alsa-plugins[pulseaudio] takes care of it out of the box _________________ GNOME team lead; GStreamer; MIPS/ARM64 |
