Hi,

I installed gentoo x86 on my acer laptop, I think I had checked usb video, multimedia support and usb multimedia in kernel configuration when configuring and compiling.

How do I check if my webcam works properly?

lsusb shows some devices, but I don't recognize if one of the list is a webcam.

there's no video in /dev (ex video0)

Usually, this is not enough and you need to specify in the kernel support for a particular camera chip.
