When I try to set background or open any image, either it's jpeg, png or gif, nothing works. It says : Code: | feh WARNING: Pictures/01593_sunrise_1920x1080.jpg - No Imlib2 loader for that file format
feh ERROR: Unable to load image Pictures/01593_sunrise_1920x1080.jpg |
I saw this post https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1085714.html. But, I didn't get the last message. Would just killing xinit and restarting fix it all ?
And yeah, I have imlib2_loaders installed.

gaurav712,
Do you have support for jpeg, png or gif everywhere its needed?
Your earlier post about doing everything in package.use suggests maybe not. _________________ Regards,

I recompiled imlib2 with use flags jpeg, png & gif. And now, pngs are supported like a charm but not jpegs. Don't know about gifs though. |

I get that error only with svg format
Other formats are working fine and I didn't do anything special to make it work, no additional USE flags or something.
I tried to solve that problem with svg but I wasn't able to, didn't try much though because it's very rare that I have to deal with svg images. |

And, NeddySeagoon,
I think I am good to go with all the use flags in package.use |

gaurav712,
Oh, Gentoo can be made to work with all the USE flags in package.use.
It gives you a lot more pieces to fit together to make it work the way you want to is all.
As long as you understand that, we are all good. _________________ Regards,
