What is the most awesome song made specifically for a TV show? That means no Massive Attack - Teardrop (House) or Big George - Handbags and Gladrags (The Office)

I'm going to go for either:

Jim Jamison - I'm Always Here (from Baywatch)
or
Sylvester Levay - Airwolf Main Theme (from Airwolf, obviously)

Due South and A-Team themes were very close

A-Team theme

This one will randomly play in my head. It's been an issue since the 80s.

Runner up goes to Miami Vice.

Special mention, To fall in love with boys is weird, especially boys without a tinkle.

Always liked the Boon theme

OK - don't actually know if it was made for TV as such, edit it wasn't , but I'll still leave it here.

Of those mentioned I'd have to say Fraggle Rock and Simon & Simon are good candidates. I'm not sure yet what I would submit.

[Edit] Very surprised to realize no one has suggested Benny Hill. Still not sure what I'd submit. [\Edit]

I forgot about the Rockford Files. Great theme song

Also from that time, Barney Miller.

Airwolf. Hands down.

Babylon 5 season 3 is certainly a runner up.
Farscape's Theme is also worthy of an honorable mention for fitting the show so perfectly.

I forgot this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGu0m08Etm8

It's Harry Nilsson for goodness sake.

I thought that was going to be Byker Grove. I wonder if PJ still has paint in his eyes?

Be sure to quote me in 2024. This was specifically made for TV, just because your answer was the same doesn't make my question any less valid

The Leftovers main theme
Overall, everything by Max Richter or Hans Zimmer is gold.

So X-Files was Mark Snow, but probably gave birth to some seeds to Zimmer.
So much like his work.
