is it possible to convert a gentoo binary package such as www-client/firefox-bin to a debian package? would it be easy or difficult? are there tools for this?

I don't know if existsa a tool or a method, but you also need to be sure that you have compiled the package with same dependencies versions that also exist in debian.

As fedeliallalinea said. Install Debian in a virtual machine and build Debian packages using Debian environment, even differing glibc version can cause your package to fail.

They use a different multiarch scheme, probably anything using shared libs would be broken.

e3k,

www-client/firefox-bin is special. Its not built by Gentoo as that would be illegal.
Its not possible to distribute binaries of firefox that use the firefox logo unless they were built by Mozilla, so www-client/firefox-bin pulls the Mozilla built binary.
